Hi John, it’s Sen. Pam Jochum with the IA Senate Dems, reaching out to give you a recap now that the legislative session is over.  

Iowa Senate Dems have been fighting hard all year to protect your rights and freedoms.

We’ve led the fight against the unpopular and harmful bills that Senate Republicans tried to push through.

We stood up against their attempts to 1️⃣ gut our AEA’s, 2️⃣ hurt consumers by implementing protections against legal liability for pesticide companies, 3️⃣ attack our LGBTQ+ community, and 4️⃣ hurt our labor unions. 

Unfortunately, we were not able to win every battle. 

Just last week, Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds was able to bully our Republican–controlled legislature into passing a highly unpopular bill that would kill our AEA’s. 

The unfortunate reality is that this is a numbers game and a Republican–controlled legislature limits how much we can do to help Iowans, but we aren’t going to give up on helping Iowans.
