John,
We want to take a moment to honor two Latinas leading our Dallas campaign, Triste and Natalie. They are currently leading a team of 30 staff who have gathered almost 30,000 signatures to qualify marijuana reform for the November ballot!
Ground Game Texas is elevating progressive leaders across Texas and building a pipeline of powerful organizers. Support our work today!
Tristeza "Triste" Ordex brings a life rich in experience and dedication to her role as our Dallas Campaign Manager. Born to migrant farmworkers and having worked in the fields herself, Triste served 10 years as a U.S. Marine where she earned the rank of Staff Sergeant before transitioning to organizing in 2014. Her journey includes spearheading passionate advocacy for veterans' and students' issues, founding a Latina-led consultancy that has managed city and statewide races, and now leading our Dallas team. As a mother and advocate for community and justice, Triste’s deep commitment to progressive change continues to shape the political landscape, making her an invaluable leader to our campaign.
Ground Game’s leaders are working every day to build progressive power in Texas. Consider a recurring contribution to keep us working year round!
Natalie Marquez brings a wealth of strategic insight to her role as our Dallas Field Director. Born in the Rio Grande Valley, she engaged in activities like volunteering with Angry Tias and Abuelas to assist asylum-seeking families in safely navigating through Border Patrol. In 2020, she co-founded RGV Mutual Aid, raising $45,000 to aid 49 families impacted by Hurricane Hanna, with a particular focus on those undocumented and unsupported by FEMA. Natalie brings extensive campaign experience to her role at Ground Game, including successful efforts to elect City council members, state representatives, and Democratic nominees for statewide office.
Together, Triste and Natalie are taking on a challenge that has never been done before — to place criminal justice reform on a Dallas general election ballot. Their efforts make our goals possible — including increasing voter turnout by 1000s of votes this November while adopting a commonsense policy that will keep hundreds out of jail every year.
Chip in today to support their work!
With gratitude,
Ground Game Texas
