CfA's April 6, 2020 Newsletter

Thank you for your continued support of CfA. During the COVID-19 outbreak, we are still working to hold the powerful accountable, especially as it pertains to topics relevant to the current crisis.

Our Latest Work:

  • Google is Paying Creators of Misleading Coronavirus Videos: On Friday, CfA and TTP published our report “Google is Paying Creators of Misleading Coronavirus Videos,” highlighting the fact that there are a number of monetized YouTube videos containing misinformation about COVID-19.  (Press Release, Report
    • Our findings were covered by several outlets including The Guardian and TechCrunch. The piece by The Guardian contains comments from Google and YouTube concerning our findings, and the TechCrunch article cites our work as part of a larger analysis of how replacing human content moderators with AI moderation systems can be dangerous.
    • The investigation was conducted as part of the Tech Transparency Project (TTP), our research initiative designed to hold large technology companies accountable. (TTP Website )
