Hi, it’s Tim Kaine. 

Last week, I shared a reminder on social media that Congress came to a bipartisan agreement that would’ve fixed the border crisis, but Republicans walked away from it. 

I wasn’t shocked when Trump bootlicker Stephen Miller attacked me directly for it:

I came to the Senate to solve problems, not just talk about them. That’s why I’ve fought to reform our immigration system to meet America’s labor and family needs, enhance border security, and create a path to citizenship.

I’m also proud to have delivered the Senate’s first-ever floor speech in Spanish back in 2013. 

And while the border security package the Senate put forward earlier this year didn’t include every provision I wanted, I still supported it — because I’d rather solve some of the problem than none of it. 

But here’s the thing: the MAGA crowd doesn’t want to solve problems — they’d prefer to complain about them and play political games. And if they win this November, it will only reinforce their narrative that actually governing is a losing strategy in American politics. 

If you want a Senate that prioritizes results over stunts, I need you to help me fight for it. Please pitch in $20 or more to help me win reelection this November. 

The border has been used as a political football by Republican politicians for far too long. The American people deserve better.
