Friend,
I wanted to share some critical news out of Washington. The House worked over the weekend to approve a much-needed foreign aid package that will assist Ukrainian troops in their fight against Vladimir Putin.
As you may know, the situation on the battlefield has grown dire over the last few weeks as Republicans stalled approval of the foreign aid. I’m hopeful that news of the forthcoming assistance will provide a morale boost to those on the front lines, and I’m certain that the influx of new supplies and resources will prove useful in halting and repelling Putin’s invasion. The bad news is that almost half of my Republicans colleagues voted against the bill. The good news: democracy won the day.
The package, which also includes aid for Israel and Taiwan as well as substantial humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza, now heads to the Senate approval. As always, I’m grateful that you’ve given me an opportunity to take part in the fight to preserve democracy, here and around the world.
