President's Message Brain Power for Life Recap  Dear John, We had a wonderful turnout for Dr. Judy Romano's presentation, "Brain Power for Life: How Early Development Influences Your Life Course." The webinar took us through brain development from birth and throughout the lifespan. Our audience had thought-provoking questions that I'm delighted Dr. Romano got to answer: "I work with nursing students in their pediatric course. What advice would you give students as they work with children and their families to enhance brain development?" "Being a former NICU nurse, I am wondering how painful experiences / interventions affect these babies later in life?" Education Outreach Ayvureda Workshop on June 4, 2024

Did you know that Ayurveda is a remarkable method that creates super health and healing? You're invited to our Ayurveda workshop with Dr. Charles R. Elder, MD, MPH, FACP on June 4th. We will explore how this traditional medicine system looks at the whole person when evaluating brain health.  You'll discover the proven Ayurvedic principles of wellness and the strategies to empower you and your clients in whole-body health. This workshop has applied for 1 hour CE for Yoga Therapists and 1 hour for Yoga Teachers. It will be recorded and sent out afterward. Dr. Elder is Associate Professor and Executive Director for the Fellowship MS in Integrative Medicine and Ayurveda for Medical Professionals at the College of Integrative Medicine, Maharishi International University. This is the first American Board of Integrative Medicine recognized fellowship for medical professionals with a focus specifically on Ayurveda.

Outreach American Society on Aging Conference

Brain Longevity Specialist, Mairead K., recently attended the American Society on Aging Conference on ARPF's behalf and staffed our booth. She reported, "The conference had exhibits and presentations on three floors! People were curious about the Brain Longevity Therapy Training (BLTT) and excited about preventing Alzheimer's as the hallmark of ARPF.

There was a wide range of exhibits on elder care, mostly dementia-related. People felt an exciting change when they found that our table focused on prevention. And to discover that there are scientifically studied ways to help prevent Alzheimer's. Social workers and caregivers were the most curious about ARPF and how the BLTT program could be applied to their clients. People were super enthusiastic when I explained how Kirtan Kriya is one of the measures to help with Alzheimer's prevention!"

Welcoming Our New Team Member Camille Osorio

ARPF is thrilled to welcome Camille Osorio to our team. She is actively making a difference within our Brain Longevity Therapy Training (BLTT) community. In addition to her role in data management, she is conducting research and gathering and analyzing relevant data for various departments. Camille's skills extend to project management, where she excels in scheduling and coordinating events and meetings. Beyond her professional endeavors, she is deeply committed to community service. She actively engages in volunteer work, whether assisting at the local library or teaching children in remote communities how to read and write. With a strong sense of social responsibility, she brings enthusiasm and dedication to her professional and personal pursuits.

Many things can hasten the development of cognitive decline and in our brand new, A Glimpse of the Future course, you’ll learn about all of them and what you can do about it from our incredible lineup of world-renowned speakers. In particular, we discuss how women can prevent Alzheimer’s disease because women are at much higher risk than men. This online course features the incredible presentations of the last conference ARPF organized at the end of 2023. If you missed it, you can still learn cutting-edge and timely topics on all aspects of Alzheimer’s prevention, in particular, evidence-based lifestyle medicine.
