A staggering 141 people became billionaires last year, while the world’s 2,781 billionaires now own $14.2 trillion between them, up by $2 trillion just in one year [1]. While the rest of us have been dealing with the cost of living crisis, the super-rich have been using the power of their corporations to hoard more wealth and trash the planet.
We urgently need to end the fossil fuel era, but we also need a global economy that works for the billions, not the billionaires – one that’s based on solidarity, not on plunder.
