Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) was already in hot water for dumping
millions of dollars in stocks after a closed-door coronavirus briefing
while she and other powerful Republicans were downplaying the risk to the
public.

Now, Slate reports that her stock sales weren't random -- she was "selling
off shares in retail companies while investing in a manufacturer of
coronavirus protective gear."

While Trump was ignoring the coronavirus threat in January and February,
Loeffler was setting herself up to make huge profits while telling her
constituents on Twitter that "Democrats have dangerously and intentionally
misled the American people on #Coronavirus readiness. Here’s the truth:
@realDonaldTrump & his administration are doing a great job working to
keep Americans healthy & safe."

Senators protecting and building their personal fortunes with insider
information while lying to the public in the face of the greatest public
health crisis in our lifetime is immoral.

[ [link removed] ]SIGN THE PETITION: Senator Loeffler should immediately resign after
putting her own self-interest ahead of the public's health and economic
security. Any member of Congress who claims to have unloaded stocks based
on "public information" and who did not loudly sound the alarm bells
should also resign.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and over a dozen organizations
are also pressuring pandemic profiteers in Congress to resign. The more
people sign, the more the media will continue to report on this -- and the
more pressure we'll build.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
