Vulnerable animals’ needs don’t disappear in times of crisis. Our work to safeguard their health and wellbeing is even more important now.

Dear John,

One-month-old Batman and Bardot arrived at our Medical Center a few days ago from Chicago Animal Care and Control. Adorable!

You may not have realized it, but you saved them. And we wanted you to know.

Rescuers never rest. Especially in times of crisis, animals need our help. We can’t abandon Batman and Bardot or any of the dogs and cats we’re rescuing every day, regardless of what’s happening in our own lives. While we may be operating differently now, our PAWS Chicago community continues to save animals every day.
You can help. We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for your desire to help animals. Our most pressing need today is financial. Our March fundraising this year is down 40 percent from March 2019. Please give what you can. Any gift that you can make will go a long way in helping us continue all of our lifesaving programs.

The more we do, the more animals we save.
In the first days of this crisis alone we:
* Placed hundreds of homeless animals with qualified, loving foster families through our Emergency Foster Program.
* Launched a virtual adoption process to continue saving lives while keeping the public, staff, volunteers and animals safe and healthy.
* Mobilized staff and volunteers to safely bring needed pet food to pet owners in Chicago’s most under-resourced neighborhoods.
* Activated our Crisis Foster Care Program, helping people care for their pets when they can’t do it all themselves. Whether they’re caring for COVID-19 patients, recovering from the virus, or experiencing financial hardship, we offer temporary foster homes for cats or dogs.

Thank you for caring so much about our vulnerable friends. Please help us through these difficult times by making a donation.

Warmest Regards,

Paula Fasseas
Founder and Chair

P.S. Animals depend on us—we’re one of the only animal shelters still operating through this unprecedented crisis. We need you now more than ever.
