# [#] This Earth Day, I want to talk to you about something extremely important to the future of our state’s environment: Initiative 2117 and the repeal of the 2021 Washington Climate Commitment Act (ACA).

I-2117 is a profoundly flawed attempt to block statewide efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Passing I-2117 would end Washington's historic and life-changing work tackling climate change , the existential challenge of our lifetime. The supporters of this Initiative want to reverse our progress, and the consequences would be disastrous . If you agree, add your name here and tell anti-climate special interests that we won’t let them win. [[link removed]]Support the CCA & defeat I-2117 [[link removed]]

I am a strong proponent of the CCA because I have seen its benefits firsthand.

The CCA is funding climate work in close collaboration with our Pacific NW Tribes.

In turn, these funds are also creating new economic opportunities while strengthening the resilience of local communities — all while tackling climate change.

As Commissioner of Public Lands, I will work tirelessly to ensure that the CCA's direct and important benefits continue to strengthen our climate change efforts.

The CCA is a win-win for our Tribes, local communities, urban centers, rural regions, and every Washingtonian.

We must not allow climate change-denying corporations and self-serving politicians to destroy the progress we're making in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 95% by 2050.

Present and future generations of Washingtonians and Americans are counting on us to do the right thing: Tackle climate change with every tool available.

Please join me in committing to vote against I-2117 in November by signing our Earth Day 2024 pledge. [[link removed]]COUNT ME IN, PATRICK! I pledge to vote against I-2117 because I support the CCA [[link removed]]
