Dear Friend,

For over a decade, Geelong Mums, St Kilda Mums and Eureka Mums have been working tirelessly to ensure that babies and children right across Victoria have the support they need to thrive. From Melbourne to Geelong to Ballarat, our mission has remained steadfast: Share more. Waste less. Every child thrives.

As we look to the future, we are more committed than ever to our vision: To reach every Victorian child up to the age of six who needs us with pre-loved essentials and, by doing so, to significantly reduce the amount of waste that goes into harmful, polluting landfill.

As we evolve, we recognise the need to tell our story in a way that resonates with new and wider audiences whilst keeping our community united. Our impact is unique, our approach is effective, and our spirit is unwavering. Everything we do stems from a place of love and compassion for the families we serve.

With this in mind, there is news on the horizon. We are excited about an even brighter future ahead. And, we want YOU to be a part of this new chapter in our charity's story. Keep an eye on your inbox next week for a special announcement.

Warm regards,

Ruth Holdaway MBE

Chief Executive Officer

You are wonderful! Thank You!

Thank you so much to everyone who generously donated to our Safe Start Appeal in March. We don't normally ask for your help at this time of the year so we were thrilled with your positive responses! We know how vital the Safe Start Program is for our most vulnerable and clearly you all agreed.

Thanks to your fantastic support, we can continue programs such as Safe Start, easing some of the financial pressures of providing safe, essential items for families with newborn babies. Together, we can help ensure a safe start for newborns and ensure that every mother feels supported and equipped to enable her child to thrive. Thank You!

Recently, we had the opportunity to collaborate with the Royal Women's Hospital on a bulk request that made a significant impact on the lives of 10 families in need!

These families, facing various challenges including domestic violence and mental or physical illness, turned to the Royal Women's Hospital for support. Through our partnership, we were able to provide them with essential items through our Safe Start Program.

The urgently needed items included 12 clothing bundles, 6 packs of linen, several car seats, 6 portacots and two newborn prams. We were also able to provide nappies and toiletries. These items may seem basic, but they are true necessities when you have a baby. For these families – they made a world of difference.

Our Safe Start Program is at the heart of what we do, ensuring that vulnerable families have access to the basics they need to care for their newborns. This request is just one of many that we fulfil regularly, and each one represents a step towards our goal of giving every child in need the best possible start in life.

We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with almost every maternity hospital in Victoria through our Safe Start Program. Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of families in need across Victoria.

Fancy being a Fundraiser?

Mother's Day – Sunday 12 May – is just around the corner and we are excited to see some of our wonderful supporters at our Mother's Day Lunch! If you can't make it on the day, why not host your own Mother's Day event – and raise some much-needed funds for Geelong Mums!

We know that everyone is flat out, with little time to go above and beyond – but we were hoping you might just have one spot left in your social calendar to do something a little bit special? Fundraise for us!

How do you fundraise for Geelong Mums? We thought you might ask that so check out our Fundraising Kit [[link removed]]. Here, you'll find more info and an easy 3-step guide to holding your own fundraiser.

Some Mother's Day fundraising ideas:

Hostess with the Mostest/Host with the Most? Host a lunch of your own and ask guests to “buy a ticket” to attend and have the honour of dining with you.

Word up your kids that while you loved the thought behind some of those “interesting” Mother's Day gifts last year – a donation to Geelong Mums instead, would be a more meaningful use of their money. Hint hint.

Fancy yourself a MasterChef baker? Whip up some gourmet treats for your office in the spirit of celebrating all things “mum” and exchange them for a donation – cheaper and tastier than a treat from the local café!

We would really appreciate any effort you could make to raise money for us in honour of Mother's Day. It takes a village and we simply couldn't do what we do without you! If you need any help with your fundraising efforts please reach out – we are here to help! Email us at [[email protected]] or call us on 1300 789 509 and have a chat with our team.

At Geelong Mums, we rely on the support of our dedicated volunteers to make our vision a reality. If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community, we invite you to join our volunteer family.

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of Geelong Mums, and we couldn't do what we do without them. Whether you can spare a few hours or a full day each week, your contribution makes a real difference in the lives of babies and children in need across Victoria.

Currently, we are in need of volunteers to help clean and prepare prams for families on our waiting list. Prams are vital "freedom machines" for families to get out and about with their babies, and your assistance in getting them ready for distribution is invaluable.
