There is one question that every candidate will hear quite frequently on the campaign trail.
Why are you running?
My why, the reason I am running for Texas’ 14 Congressional District, happened on May 18th, 2018 when my daughter was taken from me in a school shooting at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas.
That tragedy lit a fire under me and I have lobbied for common sense gun laws from the Texas Capitol to the U.S. Capitol.
While many legislators were receptive to my message and have helped my push for legislation, my own congressman, Randy Weber, wouldn't even give me the time of day.
This is unconscionable. The people of Texas’ 14th District deserve a representative who listens and cares.
Maybe it is my background as a veteran, but I believe action over complaining. If I want a better representation in CD14, then I need to put my hat into the ring.
So I did just that and announced last year.
It won't be easy to defeat Randy though, and I will need all the support I can get.
If you could donate $10, that would be extremely helpful. If you are unable to contribute though, which I totally get having lived paycheck to paycheck before, sharing this email and/or my social media posts would also be helpful.
