Hi John, I just wanted to give a quick update on our Earth Day progress:
Since we launched our $80,000 48-hour flash match earlier today, we have raised 58% of our fundraising goal. Will you chip in now while your gift will be doubled and help us meet our match goal?
This year, your Earth Day contribution will support our climate campaigns targeting Multilateral Development Banks to STOP funding fossil fuels and START funding renewable energy.
In just a few days these massive financial institutions will gather their biggest shareholders to discuss their strategy for investing — and we need to make sure that our movement's demands are loud and clear: 100 percent clean, safe, and renewable energy for all.
While we focus on demanding a transition to renewable energy, it's so important to remember that unless we shut down the fossil fuel industry in its entirety, they will continue to drill, spill and pollute. We cannot leave the plastics industry around as a plan B for the fossil fuel industry to continue to profit off the destruction of our planet.
Here's the truth: we don't need their fossil fuel energy and we certainly don't need their fossil fuel plastics. Oil and gas must stay in the ground, and we won't rest until we've rid the world of Big Oil. Are you with us?
