- In Illinois, the state Senate approved grant funding to mitigate the effects of greenhouse gases by allowing local governments to plant native trees, plants, and grasses to help remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and improve air quality.

- In New Orleans, they've established the "New Orleans' Green Bond Framework" that provides financing or refinancing for projects that meet resiliency criteria, which includes a focus on green building upgrades and clean energy use.

- In Salt Lake City, local leaders created a city-wide Climate Dashboard, Climate Response Plan, and training program to help alleviate serious air quality issues caused by climate change.
