Happy Earth Day!

We have some of the most precious public resources in the country right here in Nevada, with more than 6.5 million acres of protected wilderness areas. I’m an avid outdoorswoman and love to bike and hike whenever I can.

My first job after graduating college was as an environmental consultant handling water management, air quality, and other environmental issues. I learned how important it is to protect our environment.

Those experiences are why I’ve been a steadfast ally for Nevada’s natural resources and public lands in Congress.

It’s why I fought to prevent nuclear waste dumping on Nevada’s Yucca Mountain. I’m working to make southern Nevada a leader in clean energy. I led the charge to designate Avi Kwa Ame as a national monument. I’ve helped secure more than $24 million dollars in federal investments for Lake Mead. And my bipartisan legislation to expand recreational biking and climbing opportunities just passed the House.

I’m so proud of the work we’ve accomplished so far. But here’s the thing: Our climate is in trouble, which means we’re in trouble.

Our economy is in trouble. Our agriculture is in trouble. Our way of life is in trouble. We desperately need to take real action to combat climate change, and right now, we’re still playing catch up.

That’s why I’m asking you to chip in just $5 to my campaign so I can defeat my climate-denying opponents and continue to protect the diverse landscapes and resources for future generations. [[link removed]]
