Hi Friend,

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, The Trevor Project’s 1,500+ trained volunteers are on the front lines — available via call, chat, and text to speak one-on-one with LGBTQ+ young people and help them navigate tough times.

The empathy, connection, and hope that volunteers offer can make all the difference. Trevor’s research shows when LGBTQ+ young people feel accepted by an adult, their odds of attempting suicide are significantly lower — estimated to be more than 40%.

This National Volunteer Week, please celebrate Trevor’s volunteers by making your first gift today. Help ensure they have the resources they need to be there for LGBTQ+ young people in crisis.

This past year, 125,000 contacts were supported directly by Trevor’s volunteer counselors. In total, Trevor’s volunteers contributed to over 148,000 hours of service.

With every conversation, our volunteers show that there are people in this world who affirm and celebrate LGBTQ+ young people — even if their families and communities may not. Here’s what that means in the words of one young person who called Trevor.

“A Trevor counselor answered and talked with me for hours one very, very tough night. He was there for me and because of him, I’m still here and I can be there for others. Thank you!”
