Hi John, Happy Earth Day! 🌍
Today, I’m taking a moment to not only appreciate our Earth and all that it has to offer us, but to reflect on the real and urgent need to combat climate change.
Did you know that one 100,000-acre wildfire produces more CO2 greenhouse gas emissions than 7 million cars running simultaneously and continuously for a year? This is a crisis that demands immediate attention and bold solutions. As a 34-year veteran firefighter, I've seen firsthand the devastating impact of wildfires fueled by climate change.
I, for one, am tired of politicians who talk about climate change but do nothing about it.
It's time to move beyond empty promises and rhetoric and embrace concrete solutions that will safeguard our planet for future generations. We need leaders who are willing to roll up their sleeves and take meaningful action, and I'm ready to be that leader.
During my tenure as Vice-Chair of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, I took decisive action against serial polluters, hitting them with major million-dollar fines. In Congress, I will lead the charge to do the same, holding these corporate polluters accountable for their actions.
That’s why I'm proposing solutions to reduce our carbon footprint and mitigate extreme weather events; I will fight to secure funding for AI technology that can identify wildfires across California before they spiral out of control. And, I'm proud to have the endorsements of climate champions like former California Governor Jerry Brown and Congressman Adam Schiff. Their support underscores the urgency of this moment and the need for bold, decisive leadership in Congress.
So, John, on this Earth Day, will you recommit to fighting climate change by supporting my campaign today? Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference in building a greener, more sustainable future for all.
