John, it's Earth Day, one of my favorite holidays because it's a chance to celebrate our planet and reflect on our role and responsibility in its protection.

For me, this day is a call to action, as even now, low-income communities and communities of color bear the brunt of environmental hazards, while the impacts of climate change grow more severe.

During my time serving Illinois, I've seen a change in awareness and urgency around environmental protection.

It's inspiring to see people from all walks of life increasingly engaged in environmental issues. This growing urgency reassures me that we're moving in the right direction and motivates me every day to continue championing environmental change and bold climate action in Washington.

John, we're now at a crossroads where we must take rapid action to prevent irreparable damage to our environment and climate.

Unfortunately, we've seen extreme Republicans blocking deals to protect the environment, putting profit over our planet's health.

As your representative, I'm committed to holding individuals and companies accountable and pushing for meaningful environmental policies, but I can't do this alone.
