As we gather today to celebrate Earth Day, I am reminded of the beauty and abundance surrounding us here in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
Earth Day: A Celebration of Life and a Call to Action

My GOP opponent Rep. Jack Bergman has been positioning for years to defund environmental protections and conservation efforts with drastic cuts. Help me defeat the Republican majority so we can halt their assault on environmental protections. [[link removed]]

Friends,
Our district is blessed to be surrounded by three great lakes, which not only provide us with breathtaking views but also sustain our way of life. However, we cannot ignore the stark reality that our lakes and waters are under threat due to the effects of climate change.
As a congressional candidate for this region, I stand firmly supporting sustainable agricultural, mining, and logging practices. These industries play a vital role in our local economy, providing jobs and livelihoods for many. However, we must also recognize the importance of balancing economic growth with environmental responsibility.
While most believe in the necessity of conservation and funding to support our environmental protection agencies, Representative Bergman has proposed only cuts. This is not only short-sighted but also detrimental to the long-term health and sustainability of our natural resources.
Earth Day is not just a one-day celebration for us Yoopers and Northern Michiganders. It is a reminder that every day , we have a responsibility to be stewards of the land and water that have been entrusted to us . It is a call to action to preserve and protect our environment for future generations.
Today, as we come together to celebrate Earth Day, let us also engage in acts of service. Whether it is participating in a beach cleanup, planting trees, or advocating for stronger environmental policies, we can all contribute to the betterment of our planet.
Let us remember that our actions today will shape the world we leave behind for our children and grandchildren.
Let's create a legacy of environmental stewardship that will be remembered for generations to come.
Have a great Earth Day,
Onward,
-Bob
