Last week, the House passed my bill to hold Iran accountable for its abhorrent attack on Israel, I questioned the President of Columbia University about antisemitism on her campus, and I shared a message about this Administration's misguided tax policies as millions of Americans filed their taxes on Tax Day.

PASSED: Permanent Iran Sanctions

WATCH: Rep. Steel Urges Adoption of Her Bill to Make Iran Sanctions Permanent

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed my bill, the Solidify Iran Sanctions Act (SISA), in response to Iran’s attack against Israel last week. The bipartisan, bicameral legislation preventing aggression-deterring sanctions against Iran from expiring in 2026 and it represents a strong Congressional response to the Iranian threat, in contrast with the Biden Administration’s handing over of billions of dollars to the regime through sanctions waivers.

The Iranian Regime poses one of the greatest threats to peace throughout the Middle East and the world. There should be no sunset date to stopping funding for Iran-backed terrorism throughout the world. The Solidify Iran Sanctions Act does what it says – solidifies those sanctions – making them permanent. The people of Israel, American soldiers, and innocent people throughout the Middle East should not live in fear of the Iranian Regime and their terror.

As a Member of the Education and Workforce Committee, I continue to take part in our efforts to bring accountability and transparency to the wave of antisemitism spreading across our college campuses. At a hearing this week, while Columbia University students hosted pro-Hamas rallies, I questioned Columbia's President about faculty at the university who have reportedly spread antisemitic propaganda.
