John,

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

Each year on April 22nd, I greet people that way with mixed emotions because I feel deeply that every day needs to be Earth Day. And no matter our politics or our community, each one of us needs to step up for the planet.

This Earth Day, I am elated to announce our ambitious Call 4 Climate Action Campaign [[link removed]]. Our goal: get 50,000 new or infrequent voters to vote in November. I invite you, your friends, and family to join me. I know with your help we can meet our goal!

This election year is pivotal for Washington’s communities and for our environment. The ballot will have all statewide elected offices, including the Commissioner of Public Lands, who manages millions of acres of state lands. It also will include Initiative 2117, which would cynically repeal the Climate Commitment Act, our historic carbon pricing law that has already generated billions to help people in every corner of our state.

When more people vote, more voices are heard. As a result, our lawmakers and our officials better represent our diverse communities. Data shows [[link removed]] that young voters across the political spectrum care about climate change. Studies [[link removed]]also show infrequent voters who get a personal reminder to vote from a volunteer increases voter turnout.

Protecting people and nature as one takes all of us. Today, join us [[link removed]] at 6 p.m.to hear our vision for the campaign and to sign up volunteers and partners.

We make volunteering simple, fun, and community focused. We will have ways to engage online and in-person.

Democracy is merely what we all agree to do together. So, vote! And join us to engage Washington voters in the 2024 election.

Thanks in advance for helping,
