Hi John,
If you can believe it, anti-abortion extremists are back at the Supreme Court this week—this time, they want to allow states to exclude pregnant people from their federal right to emergency medical care.
This is personal to me—I experienced a complication during my second pregnancy, and I needed emergency care. If anti-abortion politicians get their way, people in situations like mine could be denied the care that we need, threatening our lives, health, and future fertility.
The folks most at risk are people who already experience systemic barriers in our healthcare system, especially immigrants, Black, Latinx, and Indigenous people, those working to make ends meet, and people living in rural areas.
The same anti-abortion politicians behind this cruelty are in states with devastating maternal health outcomes—so the harm is compounded when people could be denied both abortion care and emergency health care when facing pregnancy complications.
Here are two ways you can take action right now:
1) Sign our petition [[link removed]] calling on the Supreme Court to reject this attempt to exclude pregnant people from their federal right to emergency treatment;
2) Do you have a pregnancy-related emergency care experience? Click here to share your story . [[link removed]]

No one should be denied emergency health care just because they are pregnant.
Thank you for speaking out to end these constant attacks on our freedom. Over the next few days, we’ll share more ways you can get involved, so stay tuned for more.
In solidarity,
Samara Azam
