Today, as we commemorate Earth Day, we stand at a pivotal moment in history.

We’ve made so much progress, from reducing carbon emissions to preserving biodiversity, remembering that every step forward and policy change will bring us closer to a healthier, more resilient future.

At the same time, we acknowledge the urgency of our mission and must act accordingly, as Californians and people around the world face unprecedented climate impacts like rising temperatures, worsening droughts, and extreme wildfires.

On this Earth Day, let’s recommit ourselves to action and work towards a cleaner, more equitable future that includes creating a green economy with good-paying union jobs, protecting access to healthcare, and ending our fossil fuel dependency.

The 2030 deadline scientists have given us to make the necessary investments to avert major climate catastrophe is not just a goal — it’s a call to action, a promise to each other and our planet, and a legacy for generations to come.
