Ted Cruz has been wrong so many times when it comes to climate science, we’re almost embarrassed for him.

In honor of Earth Day today, here are the 5 times that Ted Cruz has been utterly wrong about climate change that we think are the most memorable:

Top 5 Lies from Ted Cruz on Climate:

#1. In a 2015 Senate Committee hearing on climate change, Ted Cruz asserted that carbon dioxide couldn't be a culprit of climate change as it's “good for plant life.”

#2. In that same forum, Ted Cruz explained why he's so highly skeptical that climate change is real — he believes the planet “is greener right now” than it’s been in the past.

#3. Sharknado.

In 2023, as California braced for severe, and potentially catastrophic, flooding following Storm Hilary, Ted Cruz fell for one of the oldest tricks on the internet — posting what he assumed was a live shark swimming on LA’s 405 freeway. As Ted doesn't even believe in the catastrophic impacts of climate change, we felt this was a particularly surprising move on his part.

#4. Ted Cruz didn't understand that The Paris Climate Agreement has nothing to do with 'people of Paris.'

AND #5. Ted Cruz affirmatively believes that "for the past 18 years … there has been no significant warming whatsoever."

On behalf of the whole dang state of Texas, let us just say that we think Ted Cruz is an embarrassment.

It's time we elected leaders in Congress who aren't anti-science, anti-women, anti-democracy autocrats. And, with your support, that's exactly what all of us here at Mothers for Democracy are committed to doing.
