Happy Earth Day!
Maryland is home to many beautiful and critical natural resources, like the Chesapeake Bay! Protecting our state’s environment must always be a priority.

Now more than ever, Marylanders are seeing firsthand the effects of climate change – from increased temperatures to rising sea levels – so all elected officials must do what they can to help tackle climate change.
In the Office of the Comptroller, we’ve been working to address these impacts in multiple ways. Last year, we hired a Climate Resilience Director to help lead our efforts in the agency. On the Board of Public Works, I guide our agencies to consider and report on building resiliency and sustainability. And on the Pension Board, I make sure we treat climate change as the serious investment risk that it is.
But there’s always more work to do! I’ll continue striving to make well-informed decisions that allow us to build a more sustainable future for future generations.
This Earth Day, I hope you’ll join me by adding your name to show your support for environmental protections across Maryland →
