| The following week, the U.S. Department of Transportation issued a license to the Sea Port Oil Terminal (SPOT) located off the coast of Brazoria County, Texas. This terminal will have the capacity to export a staggering 2 million barrels of crude oil per day to foreign markets. |

| SPOT will drive massive oil production expansion in the Permian Basin and produce disastrous levels of greenhouse gas pollution for the 30-year life of the project. Experts project that crude oil exports from SPOT could have lifecycle emissions equivalent to operating nearly 90 new coal-fired power plants. |
| This terminal could set a precedent for similar projects in the permitting pipeline that would damage air quality along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. |
