Friends — Happy Earth Day!

This year marks five years since the Green New Deal resolution was first introduced in Congress, so I’m writing you today with one simple question:

Are you ready to recommit to the movement for a Green New Deal and power the next phase of big, bold action on climate change?

I’m proud to continue to fight alongside Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to pass crucial Green New Deal legislation, including my Green New Deal for Health.

But the truth is, making historic steps forward on climate action is not something that will happen in Congress alone. We were able to pass important Green New Deal priorities last year as part of the Inflation Reduction Act because we spent time organizing on the ground, building the popular support we need to pressure leaders to take action. (As I like to say, ‘Don’t agonize, organize!’)

Organizing for a Green New Deal has been our top priority for the last five years here on my campaign. We won re-election in 2020 with the unwavering support of the climate and progressive movements. We secured funding for the creation of the American Climate Corps and many other crucial environmental justice projects.

Now, we need to push this movement to the next level — in every corner of the country — so that we can notch more progress for our planet and our future. Because the climate crisis isn’t going away until we get the job done, and that means 100% clean energy, climate justice, and a decarbonized economy.

So, with our April fundraising deadline coming up next week, and Big Oil, the far-right, and the media watching to see if we have grassroots support our side, I want to ask you again:
