Right now, Amazonian peoples are mobilizing to Brasília for Free Land Camp (ATL), Brazil’s largest annual gathering of Indigenous peoples. ATL isn’t just a gathering – it’s a crucial space for Indigenous peoples to organize, advance their rights, and confront the mining and agribusiness interests threatening their ancestral lands. Amazon Watch is standing in solidarity with Indigenous partners at ATL to amplify their voices and rights for the sake of the Amazon and our planet’s future.
Will you make a special Earth Day donation for the Amazon, the heart pump of our planet? Every gift will be matched up to $100,000 through April 30 to advance ancestral land rights and safeguard the rainforest for generations to come! As Célia Xakriabá, Federal Deputy of the Brazilian Congress, shares in this special Earth Day message to you, "The fight for Mother Earth remains the mother of all fights," and we all have a role to play.
Add a note for Célia Xakriabá when you donate and we'll share your message of support with her!
Indigenous stewardship lies at the heart of our planet’s health and vitality. Indigenous peoples’ solutions are rooted in ancestral wisdom and deep connections to the Amazon, and are by far the most effective at protecting the rainforest’s deep biocultural diversity.
As we face the tipping point of the Amazon, supporting Indigenous rights and solutions has never been more urgent.
Today, as Indigenous peoples mobilize to Brasília to defend the rainforest and our collective future, your solidarity makes a difference. Please honor this Earth Day by making a contribution that is meaningful to you, which will be doubled for the Amazon and Mother Earth. Thank you!
Happy Earth Day,
Leila Salazar-López
Executive Director
P.S. You can add a note for Célia when you donate to share your support and where you’re from, and we’ll give it to her at Acampamento Terra Livre in Brasília!
