Dear CitizenGO member, Dear John,

Did you realize what happened in New York a few weeks ago?

Probably not: in these difficult days, we are all pushed to think only about coronavirus, its effect on our daily life is huge and the worry is pressing more and more.

But we at CitizenGO continue working, defending and promoting our life, family and freedom. Now, I wanted to tell you about an impactful campaign in favour of the life of pre-born babies that we launched in the USA right before the coronavirus exploded.

Let me tell you that it’s only because of you, and because of the millions of other active citizens just like you, we’re able to expose the horrors of abortion on the world stage.

I’ll explain further...

You may recall that a few weeks ago (right before the coronavirus crisis broke out), I sent you an email telling you the story of 153,425 pre-born babies who will die each day as a result of an abortion (data provided by the World Health Organization).

Every pre-born baby is a human being and could’ve had a name, such as David, Emma, Olivia, Noah, William, Daniel, Sophia, Sam, Elizabeth, or James.

And sadly, global forums like the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) don’t recognize pre-born babies as human life. Instead, UN officials and abortion activists attempt to use those forums to mandate our government to increase spending and access to abortion here and abroad.

That’s why we pledge to always use our platform to be the voice for the pre-born Daniels and Sophias.

Our first step was to take this issue up at the 64th session of the Commission on the Status of Women in New York that was going to take place the second and the third weeks of March. Pro-abortion lobbyists and radical feminists from all over the world were planning to use this gathering to claim abortion as a human right for all girls and women. And we bought our flight tickets to be there to fight back and protect the babies.

But finally, in light of concerns around COVID-19, the United Nations decided to shorten CSW to pass a very basic political declaration. They postponed further debate to a later date.

Our work has not stopped.

Even now, in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, representatives of member states are still meeting in private to work on accepting the terms of a new political declaration, which could be used to promote abortion.

We weren't able to send our team to participate in the 1-day meeting. Instead, we rented an oversized billboard in the middle of Time Square in New York (where the UN has its headquarters) and strategically located near key embassies calling on the end of abortion and with a video of an ultrasound.

Officials of the United Nations and representatives of member states didn’t miss seeing it!

Check it out:

We were able to make this happen because of your support... and the support of millions of other active citizens who defend the right to life on our platform. Whether it comes in the form of signing and sharing our petitions or making a small donation, we can't do it without you.

Whenever the coronavirus lets us return to our normal lives, CitizenGO will continue to participate in marches, demonstrations, and rallies to defend life. We will use our platform to be the voice for those who don't have one!

In the United States, we will continue to advocate for life-affirming bills in the U.S. Congress and at the state level. Thousands of active citizens took to our platform to stand with President Donald J. Trump’s call to action in support of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (S. 3275) and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (S. 311).

Virginians nearly defeated bills that would put women in danger and increase access to abortion in their state.

In Northern Ireland, active citizens are demanding Prime Minister Boris Johnson stop his attempt to impose an extreme abortion framework on the country.

In New Zealand, active citizens are using our platform to lobby members of their parliament to vote against a bill that would legalize abortion up to birth without reason.

Extreme pro-abortion policies are being pushed at the United Nations, here in the United States, and in countries around the world.

And, it’s public actions like this billboard or using a petition to pressure our representatives in government that will continue to make a difference.

Thanks for your faithfulness.

And please, if you have a moment, say a prayer for the end of coronavirus and the end of abortion. Both kill human beings.

Thank you,

Gregory Mertz and the entire CitizenGO Team
