A 2022 New York Times report found that nearly a fifth of all Members of
Congress reported a stock trade that reveals a possible conflict of
interest.

The American people are right to question if their elected officials are
working for them.

That’s why since getting to Congress, Katie Porter has led the fight to
ban congressional stock trading and introduced the Stock Act 2.0, a
strong, substantive ban on stock trading for Members and their spouses.

This isn’t just a Republican or a Democrat issue, leaders from both sides
are trading stocks related to the industries they oversee. And leadership
on both sides of the aisle has failed to ever bring this legislation up
for a vote. It’s one of the issues Katie’s prioritizing in her final eight
months in Congress.

Truth to Power only supports candidates who pledge to continue our fight
against congressional stock trading. Only by electing new leaders who will
stand up for what’s right and implement a ban, can we start to clean up
the corruption in Washington.
