When you make a gift, you’re supporting mission programs and Explorers like marine biologist and National Geographic Explorer, Alexandra Schnell. As an internationally recognized expert in comparative cognition, her collaborative work with Explorers Shireen Rahimi, Piero Amodio, Eduardo Sampaio and Isabella Fiorello seeks to study octopuses’ foraging association with fish, combining state-of-the-art technology, research, and storytelling.
This project will provide key insights and methodological groundwork for studying the cognitive abilities of marine wildlife, including octopuses and other cephalopods. Scientific research like this uncovers the remarkable intelligence within the minds of wildlife, and challenges us to better understand and show compassion for our planet and all of its inhabitants.
Will you make a gift in support of science, exploration, storytelling, and education today? During our Earth Month Match Challenge, your gift will have TRIPLE the impact and go 3X as far.
