Friend,

Poll after poll shows that voters are tired of politicians who get sucked into the Washington circus and don't get things done. They want real results, not pithy tweets.

Speaking of pithy, you may remember the line, “water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink” from your high school English class. Unfortunately, this isn’t fiction – for too many working families, water is around, but not clean or safe enough to drink.

And for those where it’s available, the costs are prohibitive.

Drinking water service is an essential lifeline, regardless of a person’s income.

That’s why I’m excited to introduce an effort to help make water – a basic human right – both affordable AND reliable for all households.

My bill helps working families access clean drinking water and wastewater services AND brings relief from high costs by bringing down water bills each month through supporting state programs.

I’m proud to have stayed out of the circus and focused on the problems I hear from constituents and improve life for Central and Northwestern Illinois. But, this is a big challenge. And it requires partnership between Democrats and Republicans to get it done.

I will always fight for everyone in our region, regardless of party, because we all deserve basic rights. If you’re committed to the same values, please donate $5 today. [ [link removed] ]

I’m proud to roll up my sleeves to make life more affordable for our communities. Because that’s what IL-17 deserves.

- Eric
