My campaign has an official FEC deadline at midnight. I promised you that we wouldn’t use scams or fake deadlines, and I’m sticking to my word.

Connecticut’s Democratic convention is coming up, and that means my campaign is legally required to report our fundraising numbers publicly for everyone to see. This kind of transparency around campaign finance is an important part of our democracy.

But it also becomes a test of our campaign. Plenty of people and special interests — like the gun lobby — are rooting for me to fail. If I falter, they’ll jump at the opportunity to make me pay a price.
