Hey y'all, I know today is a fun day for those who partake… 😂 👀

But I wanted to talk about something serious – being Black.

Being Black in this country comes with some extra safety precautions.

Don't walk too fast at night and make sure your hood is down. Keep your hands in sight at the gas station so they don't think you're stealing. Don't get caught with a little bit of marijuana, because you'll go to jail for decades.

That's an all too familiar outcome for Black people, especially Black men in this country.

FACT: Black men are criminalized FOUR times as often than white men, despite consuming the same amount of marijuana

There's legislation in Congress that will decriminalize marijuana federally and you can count on me supporting that, because being Black isn't a crime.

But getting to Congress is going to take everything this grassroots team has. My election is less than 4 weeks away and I'm being outspent on air. I'm determined to fight for Black Americans in Congress, that's why I need to ask you to rush a few dollars to our campaign. And just for fun, you should chip in $4 or $20! 😂
