Let’s be clear: The War on Drugs has not made our communities safer. Instead, people of color are arrested for cannabis possession at disproportionate rates and taxpayer money is wasted on incarceration for nonviolent cannabis-related convictions.
If we legalize cannabis on the federal level, we will create new economic opportunities and get one step closer to ending the failed War on Drugs.
New Mexico has already started seeing the benefits of legal cannabis on the economy‚ seeing record recreational and medical sales of more than $52 million last month. Overall, the state’s thriving industry has hit over $1 billion in sales.
Martin is committed to helping legalize cannabis for medical and responsible recreational use in the U.S., but he’s counting on your support to stay in the Senate to get it done. On 4/20, can you chip in $4.20 or any amount you can spare? [[link removed]]
