New Senate testimony this week just blew the lid off of Boeing’s scandals.

Folks – I told you that a much-needed reckoning is coming for the world’s largest aerospace company.

We are one step closer to that after another Boeing whistleblower bluntly testified before Congress this week: “This is a criminal cover up.”

A screenshot of a tweet from More Perfect Union posted April 17, 2024, which reads: “Boeing Whistleblower Ed Pierson just told the Senate, “I’m not going to sugar coat this: This is a criminal cover up.” He says Boeing illegally stopped conducting thousands of quality control inspections and hundreds of airplanes left Boeing factories without those inspections.” Included is an animated gif of a video clip of Pierson speaking before the Senate. Clicking the image opens the tweet where the video can be played.

Ed Pierson is a former Boeing manager. In his opening remarks to the Senate, he talked about the catastrophic door plug blow-out on a Boeing plane this January:

“Records do exist documenting in detail the hectic work done on the Alaska Airlines airplane and Boeing’s corporate leaders know it too, because they fought to withhold these same damning records after the two Max crashes.”

My opponent, Rick Larsen, has been giving Boeing a pass for 15 years and cashing their checks all the while. This cycle alone he’s already taken more than $10K from Boeing.

It was Rick who pushed the FAA to deregulate the aviation industry and allow manufacturers like Boeing to “police themselves” on matters of public safety.

It was Rick who looked the other way while the FAA investigated Boeing for battery fires on-board in 2013.

Rick Larsen has been the ranking Democratic member of the House Aviation Subcommittee for over a decade, and is now the ranking member of the Transportation Committee as well. But he still refuses to call for a hearing in the House.

Larsen won’t hold Boeing accountable, but I will. I need your help to defeat Larsen and become the first ever Green Party member elected to Congress. Can you pitch in $25, $50, or whatever you can give today?

Senators at the hearing this week called these revelations “shocking” and talked about the “mounting, serious allegations” of Boeing’s “broken safety culture.”

We are so far beyond allegations and safety culture. This is corporate greed and a criminal cover up that has already cost nearly 350 lives and threatens untold thousands more.

To be blunt, I want to know how many more people have to die on Boeing planes before the Senators and Representatives responsible for overseeing their conduct will stop cashing their checks and start holding executives accountable.

If we want real oversight that puts people before profits in Congress, we have to elect working people who don’t sell out to corporate donors.

I’ve never taken a dime from corporate PACs or lobbyists, and I never will.

In solidarity,
