Johh,

It's been 25 years since the horrific shooting at Columbine High School. I still remember where I was when I first heard the news and the horrible feeling I had. Like so many parents, my immediate thoughts were about the safety of my two young daughters.

Even though I knew they were safe at another school, my fear for their safety was real. And since that day, that paralyzing fear has continued to be felt by families across the country. In the last five years alone, there have been more mass shootings than there were days in a year.

Enough is enough.

I am tired, angry, and fed up with the cycle of massacres and completely preventable shootings, all while the GOP continues to hold back reforms and legislation that research has shown would help stop the needless and senseless shootings.

Most Americans agree that we desperately need change, and we needed it years ago. Living in Colorado, I've been at the forefront of the fight for better gun laws. I've seen the destruction gun violence has caused our communities in Boulder, Aurora, Columbine, and Denver. That's why I'll always stand up to special interest groups and extremist members of Congress who continue to be in the pocket of the gun lobby.

As an elected official, my duty is to protect my constituents. For this generation and the next, Iā€™m more committed than ever to passing common-sense gun safety legislation.

If you agree, then stand with me on the 25th anniversary of the Columbine shooting and add your name next to mine to demand an end to gun violence and passage of common sense gun safety legislation >> [link removed]

Thank you,

Diana
