Friends,
Today marks 25 years since the tragic Columbine High School shooting, a day
that forever changed our nation and left scars on our hearts here in Colorado.
I’d like everyone to take a moment to remember the lives lost and the families
who had their children ripped away from them by this senseless act of violence.
I also want this to be a moment for us to renew our commitment to ensuring the
safety and well-being of our families and the communities that we love so much.
Columbine was not the first mass school shooting this country ever
experienced, and it certainly wasn’t the last. Yet in the face of such tragedy,
we must come together with resolve and compassion to continue the fight for a
better future that we believe exists.
We must stand up against gun violence and work tirelessly to prevent these
tragedies from happening year after year. Every one of us has a role in
creating a safer world for future generations. I would be honored to go to
Washington to fight to make children in the Fourth District safer from gun
violence than they are today.
Let us honor the memory of those lost at Columbine by advocating for sensible
gun laws, supporting mental health initiatives, and fostering a culture of
kindness and empathy rather than grievance and division.
Wishing you all the best,
John Padora
