In Congress, Doris has been one of the foremost voices calling for new, stronger emission standards for passenger cars and light-duty trucks. And in March of 2023, she led 54 lawmakers in urging the EPA to issue and swiftly finalize a new emissions rule for light-duty vehicles. In July of 2023, after the EPA proposed a new rule, Doris once again led 91 colleagues in urging the EPA to swiftly finalize a strong emissions rule!
On top of the fight to lower emissions, she has also championed rooftop solar tax credits for low-and medium-income homeowners, enacted the POWER ON Act to help California and all states impacted by extreme weather build a more resilient electrical grid, secured funding to plant millions of trees, and fought to protect energy efficiency standards.
