Team — today is 4/20, a day that is normally reserved for cannabis users and the industry and also brings with it many conversations about our country's relationship with weed.

While the plant is legal to partake in recreationally and medicinally in Illinois, at the federal level, it’s still considered a Schedule I drug, making it illegal for use.

Recently the FDA recommended to President Biden to lower the schedule of cannabis to a Schedule III drug, which would acknowledge its medicinal uses as well as its low propensity for addiction.

We want to know your thoughts here — Do you believe that marijuana’s schedule should be lowered?

TAKE THE SURVEY

Illinois has seen a 50% increase in tax dollars throughout the state and marijuana sales have increased Illinois’ economy by $1.5 billion dollars in 2022. We’ve felt its impacts at the local level too, with nearly $150 million going to support local governments across Illinois.

By lowering marijuana to a Schedule III drug and regulating the industry, we have the chance to boost our economy by BILLIONS of dollars, first/end.

Thanks for your input,

— Team Nikki
