Port of Tacoma Commission to meet April 26
Port of Tacoma Commissioners on April 26 will consider a lease agreement with Tacoma Public Schools for the Maritime|253 [ [link removed] ] skills center at the future Port Maritime Center [ [link removed] ]. Commissioners will also consider a remediation project at the Earley Business Center, a performance evaluation of the Port’s Executive Director, a master policy directive, and international travel.

Port Maritime Center Open House coming May 7
Planning for the Port Maritime Center, which will include a new Port business office and Tacoma Public Schools’ Maritime | 253 Skills Center, is making progress! Come learn more at our open house event, taking place on Tuesday, May 7 at Foss Waterway Seaport (705 Dock Street, Tacoma). Stop by any time between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. to meet with staff from the Port of Tacoma, TCF Architecture, BNBuilders, and Tacoma Public Schools. Young workers remove invasive ivy

Harbor History Museum Article
New enclosed gallery shares Gig Harbor’s maritime history
At the Harbor History Museum, the transformation is nearly complete. An enclosed Maritime Gallery along the water in Gig Harbor is built, allowing curators to start preparing the exhibit space. The gallery is off the back of the museum and was previously a covered outdoor area, where the rain could still blow in. Now there are walls with big windows looking onto the harbor. April Beach Cleanup was a success
Trash & Treasure Hunt: Port-sponsored beach cleanup was a blast
Last weekend, the Port coordinated an Earth Day beach cleanup event with Metro Parks Tacoma. More than 50 passionate community volunteers of all ages took part. As a thank you gesture from our port biologist, participants were surprised by finding treasures hidden on the beach as they cleaned: glass art from the talented students at Hilltop Artists!
