Daily Docket — Friday, April 19

Here are some updates.
* A federal judge struck down ([link removed]) part of Tennessee's felony disenfranchisement policy, ruling that the state cannot improperly reject voter registration forms from eligible voters with prior felony convictions and must inform them of their eligibility.
* A Texas appeals court ruled ([link removed]) that Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) can face disciplinary action from the Texas Bar for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, rejecting Paxton's arguments that he has immunity as a state official.
* Nebraska enacted ([link removed]) a law to restore voting rights to people with felony convictions after they have completed their entire sentence — without the governor’s signature. Republican state officials have signaled they may challenge the new law in court.
* Pennsylvania Republicans have appealed the dismissal of their lawsuit ([link removed]) — which alleges that President Joe Biden and Gov. Josh Shapiro's (D) efforts to expand voter registration in the state violated the U.S. Constitution — to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
* A court in Delaware held a hearing in a lawsuit ([link removed]) arguing that the state disenfranchises eligible voters who are in jail by not providing any option for them to vote.
+ The Prisoners Legal Advocacy Network alleged that denying eligible incarcerated voters the right to vote violates the First and 14th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.
* Right-wing groups are launching a legal assault on voting rights. But the most notable is PILF who promotes disinformation in the courts and media, ultimately creating doubt in the election process. Here's what you should know about the legal group ([link removed]) .

Here’s what’s happening on Monday.
* At 9:30 a.m. EDT, the U.S. Supreme Court will release an order list announcing some of the cases it will hear. We are watching to see if the Court gets involved in a lawsuit challenging ([link removed]) a Texas election law and Kari Lake's challenge ([link removed]) to Arizona’s electronic voting machines.
