2024 HEB Youth In Government Graduates
2024 HEB Youth in Government Graduates

Congratulations to the 2024 HEB Youth in Government graduating class and scholarship winners! 🎓👏

The 17 students who participated in the program this year gained a better understanding of the impact local government has on the community while building relationships with each other and city staff and officials. It was a great program this year, and we are grateful for the partnership between the cities of Hurst, Euless, and Bedford and the HEB Chamber of Commerce to offer this opportunity to local high school juniors and seniors. We also appreciate Republic Services for graciously providing the college scholarships each year!

Information on the 2025 HEB Youth in Government program will be available later this year on the HEB Chamber's website.

Lemonade Day Hurst
Lemonade Day - Saturday, May 18

Lemonade Day is coming to Hurst! ??

Help us empower today’s youth to be tomorrow’s entrepreneurs!

Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand.

The foremost objective of Lemonade Day is to empower youth to take ownership of their lives and become productive members of society – the business leaders, social advocates, volunteers, and forward thinking citizens of tomorrow.

Each child that registers receives access to the Lemonade Day curriculum that teaches them lessons like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community. Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem critical for future success. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some.

Good Neighbor Tips Graphic
Good Neighbor Tips

Spring is here, and we are sharing some reminders to help us all be great neighbors! 🤝

🌿 Keep weeds and grass shorter than eight inches tall. And let's remember not to sweep or blow lawn and garden debris into the street. ❌

🗑 Make sure you don't have any garbage accumulating on your property. Place it on the curb for Republic Services to collect on your collection days, following the property guidelines for collection.

💧 If you have a pool, spa, or other water receptacles at your residence, it's important that you maintain them so that they don't become offensive or a health concern for your neighbors.

🚕 Property owners should not park an automobile, truck, or any other motor vehicle or trailer for over 48 hours when the vehicle or trailer is without one or more wheels or is apparently inoperative for any reason, including not having registration or current inspection.

🗳 If you see something that needs to be addressed, you can submit a service request through the Hurst Where We Live mobile app or on our website.

Thank you for being a GREAT neighbor and doing your part to maintain your property! If you've noticed one of your neighbors has gone the extra yard to spruce up their property, nominate them for our Property Pride Award! 🏆
