Dear neighbor,
This week was a busy one on Capitol Hill. I’m still in Washington working on passing funding for national security bills. It is essential that the United States support our allies and provide humanitarian assistance to civilians in need. I spoke about the importance of supporting our allies at this week’s House Democratic Caucus press conference. Check out my full remarks below.
PHOTO OF THE WEEK: I was honored to congratulate UCLA’s Chancellor Block on his retirement this week. After 17 years of service, Chancellor Block has left an indelible impact on UCLA and our community. We are grateful for all he has done for former, current and future Bruins. Under his leadership, UCLA expanded housing and resources for students and invested in groundbreaking research on the most pressing issues facing humankind. Chancellor Block’s leadership helped UCLA achieve the ranking of No.1 public university seven years in a row.
WATCH FOR WILDLIFE: I was thrilled to see construction on the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing in Agoura Hills officially begin this week! It was an honor to secure $2.5 million for this project, which will be the largest wildlife crossing in the world when it is completed. For construction updates and real-time traffic information for the surrounding area on the 101, check out CalTrans’ QuickMap tool.
