 Folks, When my great-great-grandfather, Silas Burgess, was brought here in the belly of a slave ship, I am pretty certain his dreams for my generation were not victimhood or the endless divisiveness that has been forced on us by the Far Left. Once he was freed, he became an entrepreneur. He believed in hard work and fighting for the American Dream and did so until the day he died. Silas founded the first black church and the first black elementary school in his town. He was a proud Republican, a devout Christian, the patriarch of a large family, and a pillar of his community.
