Hey John,
Earlier this week, I joined the Sault Saint Marie nurses as they began a weeklong strike to demand fair pay and better healthcare. My mom is a nurse, and I know that our nurses go into that profession because of their selfless passion for people.
So, when our nurses are picking up signs and hitting the picket line, we need to pay attention and give our support. Let’s remember that there is not one of us who won’t, at some point, need one of them.
It has become increasingly clear that the folks intended to advocate for us in Congress, including our current representative, consistently vote against labor protections for working families in Upper and Northern Michigan.
Time and time again, they have neglected the urgent needs of those who hold our communities together – like our nurses – while catering to corporate interests. Let’s have an economy that works for everyone. Labor helps us get there.
I’m running for Congress because our district deserves someone who is rooted in our community and who will fight for the interests of working families in Michigan. Today and every day, I stand in support of folks doing the hard work - for all of us.
Tuebor,
Callie
