The 2024 Forum on Leadership: ‘The Call of Freedom’

The Bush Center awarded the George W. Bush Medal for Distinguished Leadership to Indra Nooyi, former Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, at the seventh annual Forum on Leadership. Nooyi is a role model to women and immigrants alike. She has long been celebrated for her professional accomplishments and her empowering messages of inclusivity.

During a conversation with Ken Hersh, President and CEO of the Bush Center, Nooyi said, “I feel a deep sense of gratitude for what this country has done for me. Only in America could someone like me have come in as an immigrant and ascend to lead a Fortune 50 company, so I am a product of the United States.”

In addition, Creamos, a multiservice nonprofit organization working with women living in the community surrounding the Guatemala City garbage dump, received the George W. Bush Institute Citation. The Stewpot, which offers a safe haven for homeless and at-risk individuals of Dallas, received the George W. Bush Institute Trailblazer Citation.
