Friends and Colleagues,

Please listen to brief summaries and analyses below by For Country Caucus Members Rep. Salud Carbajal and Rep. Don Bacon for an update on the status of the defense supplemental bill the U.S. House may vote on this weekend.

The bill includes delivering $60.8 B of urgent military and economic aid for Ukraine in its fight for democracy, along with an important provision to advance the legislation that would block the Chinese Communist Party from accessing data on U.S. citizens through TikTok.

Rep. Bacon's C-SPAN interview also includes a discussion on one of the more promising opportunities to pass significant bipartisan legislation later this year: recommendations from the military Quality of Life Panel that he is leading with founding For Country Caucus Vice Chair, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan.

After months of bipartisan work alongside With Honor Action, the House Armed Services Committee introduced the legislation yesterday. We will write more about it as it develops, but you can get a preview of it at mark 21:53 to 24:38 in Rep. Bacon's interview. These bills can help turn around our military recruiting crisis and end the unacceptable food insecurity that some enlisted servicemembers face while serving our nation.
