Oklahoma,

My heart remains heavy today as we recognize the 29th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. May we continue to honor the victims, as well as the first responders and all those affected by this horrific act of terrorism. If this email was forwarded to you, you can subscribe to my weekly enewsletter here.

On Thursday, Senate Democrats, led by Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, set a dangerous precedent for America by blatantly ignoring the Senate’s constitutional obligations and refusing to hold an impeachment trial against Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. On 18 occasions in our nation's history, the Senate has been called to hold an impeachment trial, as our Constitution demands. This case should not have been any different. Ultimately, Senate Democrats did not want the American people to hear the truth about the Biden administration’s failure on our southern border.

As a working cow-calf rancher, I'm grateful to the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association for coming up to Washington this week! We discussed Farm Bill priorities and the importance of ensuring Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster assistance loans are managed and allocated fairly.

Please join me in honoring the memory of the 168 innocent lives lost in the Oklahoma City bombing 29 years ago today. On this solemn day, we remember those affected by this tragedy and pledge to continue to embody the Oklahoma Standard in all that we do. From the ashes of tragedy, Oklahomans built a message of hope and love.

I welcomed Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Jack Reed to Oklahoma last weekend to visit our military installations and witness firsthand how our state is training world-class Airmen, National Guardsmen, and Soldiers, equipping our national defense efforts, and modernizing our armed forces. As we work to appropriate funds in our annual defense bill, I’m confident that the Chairman not only understands Oklahoma’s defense needs but sees the value of investing in Oklahoma’s installations to strengthen our military communities and our nation.

This week, I joined Sen. Lankford and Reps. Cole, Lucas, and Bice in questioning United States Postal Service (USPS) Postmaster General Louis DeJoy regarding reports of a proposal to have mail from Tulsa, Oklahoma to go through a processing center in Oklahoma City. We are concerned on how the changes in the Delivering for America Ten-Year Plan will impact Tulsa USPS employees. OKC Thunder has earned the #1 seed as they head to the NBA’s Western Conference Playoffs this weekend and are the youngest team to ever do it! Oklahoma could not be more proud of this impressive achievement, and we wish the team the best of luck this weekend. Thunder Up!
