John,
Scientists are warning the “Bird flu” (also called H5N1) has been spreading throughout the Animal Kingdom - and they don’t know how to stop it. It’s not just affecting birds, but also devastating populations of marine mammals and other wildlife. In Argentina alone, an estimated 96% of southern elephant seal pups born this year were killed because of the virus.
And recently, the first case of bird flu in a human was confirmed in Texas who was exposed through infected dairy cattle. It’s an important reminder of why we need to follow science and stay ahead of the fight against emerging infectious diseases.

Scientists also believe climate change could be making it worse.
Members of SEEC PAC in Congress have been at the forefront, advocating for proactive measures to combat these diseases and combat climate change.
